Food Is My Transport.
I love food, travel and history. With a good cookbook, history and geography research, I’m there.
From the Gumbos of the United States’ South, Sancocho of Puerto Rico, to Cook-up Rice of Guyana, South America, and Paella of Spain, we will explore the many influences of Africa on flavors and cooking techniques throughout the African diaspora. The Africa In Our Kitchen website/blog will present recipes from Liberia to Zambia, Louisiana to Jamaica, Brazil to Panama so you can join in the taste fest of our food cultures.
On my website, in addition to recipes, I will share restaurant reviews, food events and more. I’ll make available to you spice mixes, condiments and handicrafts that come to us from Mama Africa and the many places her hand has touched throughout the African diaspora. With Creole, Low Country, African, Mediterranean, and Caribbean foods I want to entice you to invite her into your kitchen too.
I look forward to hearing from you and hope you will send your recipes and share your experiences of travel and meals throughout the African diaspora.
